When he's not barreling down the highway in search of offbeat adventures, he's sitting on his butt recounting them. Wesley Treat, the sort of guy who's comfortable writing about his accomplishments only in the third person, is Texas Twisted's soul creator and host.
While working as an author, photographer and occasional comedic actor, Wesley has traveled from one coast of the United States to the other, all the while sniffing out unusual roadside attractions and sharing them with the online community.
His book and online creations have twice resulted in mentions by "Yahoo Internet Life" magazine, stirred national praise by "WGN Morning News" and in 2002 earned him a mention in "Yahoo Internet Life's" June cover story on "The Web's Funniest Sites."
Additionally, Wesley's photographs have been requested by various museums as part of permanent and special exhibits, have appeared in educational publications, including a Hooked on Phonics program, and have appeared in a variety of books and magazines.
Most recently, Wesley has celebrated the release of "Weird Texas", a collaboration with Mark Sceurman and Mark Moran, originators of the Weird series and hosts of The History Channel's "Weird U.S." As a result, you can catch Wesley as a guest on a variety of radio and television programs, and at book signings across the state. Though his endeavors have carried him to various parts of the country, Wesley has always returned to his home state of Texas, where he lives today. As he quotes himself saying, "I hold a fascination with offbeat roadside attractions and Texas seems to have one of the greatest concentrations in the country. Not to mention the fact that Texans commit to their endeavors with a flair and pride that you don't find elsewhere, making their strange and unusual spectacles all the more strange and unusual. End quote."
