Tenth St. and Patton Ave.

Before we go any further, I’d like to reiterate that this is not a conspiracy Web site. Not that I don’t enjoy e-mail; I just don’t enjoy hundreds of them starting with “But what about the Pith Helmet Man who said he saw Oswald buying a chorizo three blocks away?”

Honestly, I don’t know what to tell you. Besides, all our e-mail is being monitored and you don’t want them coming after you for what you know, right? Shhh.

Now then, our next stop is at this quiet intersection eight blocks away from Oswald’s rooming house. Here, witnesses saw a man shoot police officer J.D. Tippit about 15 minutes after Oswald’s landlady said that Oswald left. The shooter then fled on foot in the direction of the Texas Theatre.

According to police reports, Tippit was murdered 132 feet east of the curb on the southeast corner. I didn’t measure, but file photos help place the scene between the driveways at 404 and 408 Tenth St.
